Your reputation is one of your greatest assets and we're here to help you look after it.
As a boutique agency made up of a network of experienced practitioners, we'll create a bespoke team to deliver the best communications outcomes for your business.
WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK WHEN THEY THINK ABOUT YOU?
Based in Wellington, with team members around the country, The PR Department is an agency as large or as small as you need it to be.
Led by Wendy Pannett, along with long-time associate Amie Richardson, our network of experienced freelance communications consultants, social media experts, videographers, researchers, brand experts and creatives enable us to hand pick the best team for every job.
Working with a range of long term and project-based clients, we’re passionate about achieving the very best possible communications outcomes for the organisations we work with.
MEET THE TEAM
Hosting Time Magazine in the Chatham Islands as first to see in the new Millenium, bringing royal Zara Phillips to New Zealand media for the launch of spinal cord injury charity The Catwalk Trust, and managing media for the first ever New Zealand Fashion Week - just a few of the highlights of Wendy Pannett's career.
From freelancing across Europe for global agencies, to setting up a boutique Kiwi consultancy working with iconic New Zealand brands, innovative start-ups and game changing charities, Wendy's communications expertise are finely tuned.
When she's not working, Wendy can be found heading for the hills - or mountains - on her mountain bike or skis.
Award-winning journalist, columnist, short film producer and writer, TV associate producer, researcher and accomplished PR practitioner – Amie Richardson has more than a few strings to her bow.
Since being rescued from newspapers (by Wendy) in 2005, Amie has been a long-term associate across many clients, and the PR Department's resident go-to for social media and video production expertise.
In her downtime, there's nothing Amie loves more than hanging with her two small boys, rekindling her passion for running or swimming in the sea.
Sharon van Gulik
Sharon has over 25 years’ experience driving strategic growth, reputation, brand experience, marketing and public relations for leading corporate, not-for-profit, FMCG, government and educational organisations. Her experience extends from consulting to senior executive positions in the private sector, and both local and national government – including time as a ministerial private secretary.
When not at her day job, Sharon can be found sailing somewhere warm or riding New Zealand on her Harley.
When she’s not organising a client function or collating WIP documents you’ll find Marina (as her name suggests) close to the beach breathing in the sea air or diving into the waves.
WHAT WE DO
From strategic communications advice to hands-on media relations and PR support, The PR Department will complement your in-house team, or work seamlessly as your very own virtual PR Department.
Engage your audience with the right messages told in the right way. Let us craft clever copy for your website, media releases, speeches, presentations and reports.
In the world of constantly changing algorithms and new platforms, we understand the best ways to reach your audiences through social media, so you don't have to.
Does the idea of getting in front of a camera terrify you more than a Bungy jump off the iconic Kawarau Bridge? We can help you understand the media and how to tell your organisation’s story.
SPONSORSHIP STRATEGY AND LEVERAGING
Aligning yourself with the right brand or charitable cause can be a game changer. We can help find the perfect fit for your business, and work to make sure everyone benefits.
Whether internal or external, global or local, we’ll develop a strategy to get your message across.
Our media relationships are second to none. So if you’ve got a story to tell, we can help you tell it.
When things don’t go quite to plan, we’re here to help manage your reputation and have your point of view told.
